This error often shows up if the ZIP file being installed is either corrupt or not a valid Language Pack.

It may be the case that the ZIP file is the container of the actual Language Pack, among other files (i.e., License.txt, ReadMe.txt, etc.).

I recommend that you open the ZIP file and double check that it contains a valid structure of resource files. Compare its contents with the Language Pack that is behaving in a "normal way".

Saludos,

Alejandro.

 HI Sebastian,

I have a DNN installation that I use for translation purposes and the language pack generated from that version (DNN520) is not uploaded in a different DNN portal (also DNN520). I am geting the same kind of error as  jungyong chae got (DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.LanguageInstaller.ReadCustomManifest).

Below is the error from the event log:

Hi Marc,

it looks like there is a problem with language pack creation in DNN 5.2.0 - I haven't tested creating language packs with this version yet - due to the lack of full lang pack support and other problems of language tools including in DNN5, I am still checking out of this task and still hope, we would at least get back the features from DNN 4.

I will try finding some time to investigate into this around the end of this week. Feel free to log it into the public issue tracker at support.dotnetnuke.com meanwhile. Thank you!

Sebastian,

I just tried to install a language pack created in DNN522 and still ran into this issue. Do you know whether full language packs will be supported once again or not?

Thanks in advance.

Marc

Marc,

unfortunately I am not aware of any effort put into this framework area.
