Do you have the dotnetnuke.dll in that location? If not, you must point it at the appropriate location for a valid dnn dll.

I added _References folder to the Events folder and added the DNN dll to it. Then i got into another error in Events SQL data provider. This time it was "Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.dll" missing. I had to add that too.

Now its compiling with out errors. Why this _resource folder (and dlls) are not provided as part of the source package. Atleast the _resource folder can be provided with instructions to copy our dnn dlls there.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Jean Paul,

We don't distribute these DLLs because they are part of your core DNN installation. They are in the bin directory of your web site. You don't need to create the folder, just point the two references at the bin folder.

Ernst Peter uses a reference folder for these files, so he can be sure he is compiling against DNN 4.7.0 since we state that as our minimum DNN version supported, and if you compile against a newer DNN dll, it won't run on the older one.

Cheers
Roger

Hey Roger:

Thank you for your answer, but I am not sure exactly what to do...

I am running DotNetNuke Version: 04.09.03 and I already have a refrence to the DLL in my project, yet I am still getting  alot of errors when compiling.

Error example below:

Error 36 Name 'CmdGoToDate' is not declared. C:\Extreme\Website\DesktopModules\Events\EventWeek.ascx.vb 85 17 http://localhost/extreme/
(a lot of not decalred errors)

Error 39 'EventIcons' is a type and cannot be used as an expression. C:\Extreme\Website\DesktopModules\Events\EventWeek.ascx.vb 97 30 http://localhost/extreme/

Error 57 Handles clause requires a WithEvents variable defined in the containing type or one of its base types. C:\Extreme\Website\DesktopModules\Events\EventWeek.ascx.vb 393 97 http://localhost/extreme/
