Hi,

I have a problem with the Events module when I browse on it with a Bulgarian language pack. The problem is a date conversion error. I posted the problem in Localize It forum:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/77/threadid/321630/scope/posts/threadpage/1/Default.aspx

and after some answers Sebastian Leupold advised me to re-post the error here. Now I copy&paste some parts of the topic of the link above:

Here is the error which is on the address bar of the IE:

http://digitborn.co.cc/DotNetNuke/Default.aspx?tabid=58&error=Conversion+from+string+%2207.9.2009+%c3%90%c2%b3.%22+to+type+'Date'+is+not+valid.&content=0

This happens when i browse in Events module and i'm on Bulgarian language pack. The date - 07.9.2009 is 7th of September 2009. When this error appears the Event modules disappear (not visible) from the browser. I should close the IE and reopen the page to eliminate the problem. On English (US) language pack there's no any problem with the same Events module.

p.s. You can enter the website link and test it if you think you can get some more info

I just want to add that I used an old verstion of the module and I updated to Events_05.00.01.The same error appeared but with more details on it:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Conversion from string "01.10.2009 ??." to type 'Date' is not valid. ---> System.InvalidCastException: Conversion from string "01.10.2009 ??." to type 'Date' is not valid. at Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.Conversions.ToDate(String Value) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Events.EventBase.get_SelectedDate() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Events.EventWeek.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Please could you describe the steps to reproduce the error since I can't get it to occur on your site.

That said, there is a bug fix planned for 5.0.3, which should solve problems when swapping between cultures.

Cheers
Roger

The steps are:

1) Go to http://digitborn.co.cc/DotNetNuke/Програма/tabid/58/language/bg-BG/Default.aspx (be sure you're on bg-BG language pack. If you're not sure click on the Bulgarian flag on the upper-right corner). This is the Events module on Bulgarian language pack.

2) Go to Month view

3) Browse around the months, change to week view, browse around the week, switch back to months view. I get this error in no more than 1 minute, usually in 10-20 seconds time when i start browsing in the Event module.

Sorry, I keep getting this error on your site - http://digitborn.co.cc/DotNetNuke/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Page+cannot+be+null.+Please+ensure+that+this+operation+is+being+performed+in+the+context+of+an+ASP.NET+request.&content=0

However, I'll try with Bulgarian enabled on my test site over the next few days, and see if I can identify the problem.

Cheers
Roger
