My requirement is rather complex....

I would like to use the events module as a booking resource for a yacht club that has multiple yachts in geographically different locations. My basic Idea is that I set up recurring events for each yacht to which a registered member can enrol.Another option to me setting up events is that a member can create their own event and enrol in other events which will change a few requirements slightly.

Yachts can be booked on a daily basis or a weekly basis - NOT BOTH.

So I would set up a recurring weekday event (repeated every weekday of year), a recurring weekend event(repeated every sat, sun) and some yachts will have a recurring WEEK event (sunday to saturday)

  • Members will either be Role1 and have access to calendars/yachts set up with Weekly Events or Role2 - the weekday and weekend events.
  • Each event can have multiple seats or just one seat - initially I will set this to be 2, so that every booking can be shared.
  • Each has a booking price (hence the reason for a weekday, weekend and week event)
  • My members can enrol in an event - and effectively book a seat on a yacht for the day......after paying a booking fee.
  • The booking Fee should go to a paypal account that MAY be different for each calendar/yacht or event depending on how this needs to be set up. Basically we have a few locations that require the revenue from each booking at their location.
  • Members pay per seat and can book either 1 seat or 2 seats (or any combination should I change the number of seats) - so booking fee should also be per seat.
  • On the calendar I require an indication of how many seats are available and whether it is FULL.
  • They will get confirmation of registering in an email.
  • Members should be able to view a list of the events that they have enrolled in.
  • A member can cancel their event and get a refund - but not within XX hours of the event starting.
  • I need to have a viewable calendar for each yacht.
  • And if Possible an overall calendar for each location showing all yachts in that location - in one calendar.
  • Each Calendar should have a different user that has admin privileges other than the site admin.
  • Site ADMIN should be able to restrict users to having a maximum number of enrolments to events this should be done on a role basis if possible as I want to restrict users being able to book yachts (depending on whether they are allowed to book week or day events) So a member can have 10 days booked or 2 weeks booked depending on what sort of member they are.
  • Each location wont have that many yachts so I might be able to get away using a separate page for each location and a calendar for each yacht in something like DNNStuffs Aggregator module. But this is not ideal.

So a couple of questions.

  • Can the events module do what I require above?
  • Is there a limit to the number of Event Modules you can have on one site/page
