Here is an example of the URL that is generated from my NavigateURL code:
http://localhost/dotnetnuke_2/MyPage/tabid/62/cid/3/Default.aspx

As you will note, the cid/3 is a custom parameter I added. The articles and forum posts regarding NavigateURL suggest that I can use Request.Querystring to read this parameter but it does not work. Is there a way to read this without having to manually parse the querystring?

It seems like I'm missing a way to decode the query string on the receiving side.

Thank you in advance for you help.

You are correct that you should be able to read that parameter using the following code:

Dim strCid As String = Request.QueryString("cid").ToString

The reason that this is possible is because even though you see this:

http://localhost/dotnetnuke_2/MyPage/tabid/62/cid/3/Default.aspx

The URL still looks something like this to IIS:

http://localhost/Default.aspx?tabid=62&cid=3

On occassion, I have found issues with reading very specific querystring due to them having a conflict with other various objects and elements out there, such as Server Variables.  If you still have issues, try a new QueryString key and see if that works.

Thank you. That was the problem.

I was trying to read a parameter I had named cid and it always showed null. I changed the custom parameter to something else and it read without problem.
