Hi R-J,

I'm afraid that I won't be much help in assisting you with your problem, but I did want to chime in and add that I think that your use-case is an excellent idea for a future enhancement for this module.  I've not had the opportunity to use the chat module before, but if it supported such a scenario, I might consider it.

Have you considered logging this as an enhancement in Gemini, at http://support.dotnetnuke.com?

Brandon

Hmm checked out the gemini website, but how would i go a bout logging this feature? And shouldn't one of the moderators do it / decide.

Thanks for your input :)

Hi RJ,

You'll need to create an account, and then create an issue in the DNN Core Framework and Modules project (this is the only one with public access).

Gemini, in addition to the forums, is one of the main interfaces between the community and members of the DNN team(s).  It's the place to go to try and get a great suggestion implemented somewhere down the road.  Although you could wait for someone else to submit the enhancement for you, there's no better way to increase the odds of realizing it (somewhere in the distant future) than to submit it yourself!

Obviously, submission is no guarantee of implementation.

Hi Brandon,

well added the feature, let's see what happens. How many ppl work fulltime on DotNetNuke anyway? Is it mostly voluntairy work?

My understanding is that the DNN team is an all-volunteer group; I certainly am.  I assume this is true at the corporate level as well.

You can read more about the relevant parties here.

Though it will likely take awhile, I hope your suggestion is implemented.  It is a good one!
