I have got the core maps plotting my Smart-Thinker UserGroups (you can search on Poker Groups here, the end result will have leagues, games and players too).

So now that I understand how it is working, I need to know how you are keeping your UserGroup data in synch with the map points (assuming you are using Standard Data Points and not a custom querty (I don't think you store Lat and Long in your core Groups module). So this means you either have to peridically clear out the map points and reinsert it/re-geocode it (with the latest total group members/group changes) or you put a trigger on the Groups table and it inserts a record into the MapPoint table with the new group.

The scheduled SQL task sounds like the most robust (a user could set their group to Private or delete it etc so a full delete and update would be the best I think) - can the core team share how you are doing this on DotNetNuke.com please for the group map?

Ok, so nobody uses this module then?!

What an opportunity for someone! There's a real gap in the market for a supported Maps module here!

I am actually directing this question specifically at the webmaster of DotNetNuke (it used to be Bill Walker - not sure if it still is?) - new groups must be popping up all the time - please share how you keep this data in synch.

yes, could somone please respond to this question - it is very frustrating that a DNN core module is not supported at all as well as lacking documentation for basic operations as Rodney is asking for. It would be great if someone from the core team would just pick up the slack and step it up to at least comment on the questions regarding the Map module.

I don't know the module so can't offer technical help, but I can post on a few other things

There also seems to be a lot of alternative commercial map/google map solutions @ http://www.snowcovered.com/snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=295&search=map if this one isn't currently suiting your needs.
