I have a client who is looking to change from WordPress using Ultracart to DNN Community (latest 5 ) using PayPal. The product line is very small right now and may expand to about 200 items. I have installed Store Module and played with it. Unless I am mistaken, DNN Store 3 module is tested, secure enough to replace the need for Ultracart and may actually provide more flexibility? Are there any good examples of how the Store is being used.

Ultracart is an ecommerce site that links from your site to a store/ product purchasing.

Hi Jennifer,

All core modules marked as 'Stable' at Codeplex are tested by the module team. When they are 'officialy' released they are tested by core team members to validate some quality requirements (localisation, package, ...). Off course, this is not a contract for a 'free of bug' software. To be honnest, in more than 25 years of programming I haver never seen a 'free of bug' software! ;-) When a bug is found, I do my best to produce a release in a short time frame (most of times in days).

I can't give you any good examples or sample websites, but if you need help or advices I'm here! The Store module is a pretty good module for basic store, if you need advanced features you can found some other free or commercial ecommerce modules. Severals commercial modules are availables at SnowCovered.

You should download and read the Templating Guide available at Codeplex to discover how to personalize your store.

After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Thanks Gilles,

I installed and created pages for the Store Module (I am running) DNN 5..6.2 on a Third Party Host (not my own). Logged back in again as Host Superuser, with excitement because I created a wonderful skin package......but the SuperUser somehow lost permissions. There is no "Install Skin Package Wizard", I have read only access to folders. I can't even edit Permissions. It's like the SuperUser is a Registered User (although it does not show up in the User List).

My Admin account can access folders and has it's normal Permissions. The only thing I can think of is there might be a conflict between my Third Party Web Host Shopping Cart and My DNN Store Module for security maybe the Permissions are from the Hosting server? I have searched other Forums for this solution. But since the only thing I have done since this started to occur is install Store I thought maybe you might be able to give me some ideas I could experiment with. Otherwise, I will try Reinstalling DNN.

Thanks again for your help!

Hi Jennifer,

If your admin account can access folder it's probably not related to your hosting server because both host and admin account use the same asp.net account (the one defined in the correponding AppPool) to get rights from windows. Please connect to your website as host and look at the top bottom left of your screen. You should see three radio buttons in the toolbar:  Mode : (o) View (o) Edit (o) Layout

Verify than Edit is selected! :-)

Yes that was it. Good grief! Sometimes you need to step back and take a look; I should apply my Fine Arts skills more often. We get so engrossed in life and work.

Perhaps an icon for View, Edit, Layout, in the future?

Thanks for your help.
