I have set the store settings to use the Authorize.Net gateway, and set the version, login info, etc.  It is set to Auth + Capture. The checkout page is secure via SSL.

When I click "checkout" on the page and get the billing/shipping address fields + credit card info fields, I enter information and click "confirm order" and the page simply refreshes, and there is no order confrimation screen, nor any error messages saying that there was a problem with the credit card. Logging into the Authorize.Net account shows no activity. Order history on the site does show the order created, with status "processing."

What am I missing?

I've been having the same problem. I've tried it with Authorize only, auth and capture, and capture only capture types (what do those even mean, by the way?) with the "test mode" box checked and unchecked. The page just refreshes with no error or confirmation messages, and the order appears in the order history on the admin page with a status of "processing." I've been using the test credit card numbers found here: http://developer.authorize.net/testingfaqs/ (no card verification codes are given so I assume any one will work, I've just been using '111'). I've been doing this testing in firefox. Any advice on what's going on would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ok, so after making this post I figured it out. I was using the wrong postback URL (it was something like https://secure.authorize.net/gateway.transact.dll). Since it was a test account the one I should have been using was: https://test.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll Once I switched that it started working.

Hi,

I'm glad to see than your problem is solved. Terms "Authorize Only", "Auth & Capture" and "Capture Only" comes from the Authorize.Net documentation. "Authorize" verify if the card is valid, while "Capture" make the payment. Please look at the Authorize documentation for details.

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.
