Hey Gilles,

Great solution! Thats exactly what i was looking for.
About negative stocks, i think a nice solution for that would be another setting option for a case in which a customer has ordered some items but has not yet paid for them (no confirmed IPN was recived) but, those same items was ordered and paid for by another customer.
this option could have like:
* send cencel email to customer - sending an "We are Sorry but the item u ordered went out of stock etc.." Email
* send restocking email to customer - sending an "The item u ordered went out of stock and now being restocked, u might have to wait for a few etc..." Email
* do nothing - if u have like weekly or monthly deliveries and u can restock the item before next delivery.
anyway i think negative stocks are the worst case scenario because u could end up owing items to customers.

By the way, are u planning on making more provider options? or an option for a custom provider?
Thanks,
Yotam.

Hi Yotam,

Working on your suggestion, I have finaly changed a lot of things and rewrited almost completly the cart control. This is why I have not yet released the next beta. Sometimes a small suggestion give me a lot of works! ;-)
I have removed the cart control signs (+ - x) and the quantity column is now editable. Customer can edit quantity and save them one by one or apply changes globaly. I have added the same quantity check in the cart and a message appear if quantity can't be applied specifiying the remaining available quantity for each product. Of course, customer can remove a product from the cart as before.

I can't add your new suggestions because too many cross cases could produce a wrong stock quantiy! On the other hand, the store admin can already do what you need when editing order. He/She can change the status order (Awaiting Stock, ...), add a comment to the email sent. If it's not enough, the store admin can click on the customer email to send an email.

What is your need about "custom" provider? Give me more details please!

Gilles

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hey Gilles,

Im really glad my suggestion helped. I cant wait to see those changes :)
Now im thinking of a suggestion for the custom provider, my general idea was to make an option that will connect between your module and an external provider.
Something like giving a few values sending options, the main option will be manually changing the <form> action attribute.
And probably some fields renaming as well.
Please tell me if this idea is not doable or if it will take too much changing and adaptation.

Thanks, Yotam.

Hi Yotam,

The new beta is available! ;-)

Concerning your suggestion, you can't change the form action because in an ASP.NET appilcation there is only one form tag in the default.aspx page maintenanted by DNN. If you need to change something inside DNN (not only Store) from an external application, you can use the iWeb module from Michael Washington. This module allow you to create your own web services, in the code of your verbs you can do anything like in a module!
