Hi;

I'm new to this module and am trying to get things organized. THe catalog shows a 'Buy Now!' link instead on the 'add to basket' button shown in the Help. The Store Account module does show the 'checkout' button as illustrated. How do i get the two to be consistent. (I prefer the buttons.

Thanks

Hans Hermans

Hi Hans,

I do not know which version you use, last versions has been rewrited to be XHTML compliant. The default templates has been changed too. The Store module use a templating system to render the catalog interface. Please download and read the DotNetNuke Store v02.01.26 Template Documentation Rev 1.0.4 DRAFT available at Codeplex. You will be able to change everything in the catalog, including to replace the Buy Now! button by the Add To Cart button or even use both if you want.

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Thanks Gilles; I'll be busy for a little while studying this. Will get back if there are more questions.

Hi Hans,

If you read and follow the Templating Guide, you will be able to do what you want to customize the Catalog interface. Each part of the interface is made of one or several XHTML template files, like: Catalog.htm, ProductList.htm, ProductDetail.htm and so on. Each template contains XHTML tag and Store tokens, at runtime the template is parsed and each token is replaced by the corresponding code. As as sample, if you want to replace the Buy Now! button by the Add To Cart button in the category product list, open the ProductList.htm template file, replace the token [PURCHASEIMG] by the token [ADDTOCARTIMG], save your changes. That's all! Of course the Templating Guide give you a lot more of details! ;-)

Hi Gilles;

After installing the new module, things are a whole lot better. I think i understand most of the template configuration stuff. Have one question however. The ProductList.htm module displays the product short description next to the image. Fine. But when the mouse hovers over the image it also displays that same text. That seems redundant and undesirable. Is there a way to get rid of that? (I know I can get rid of the description by changing the template, but that hardly seems a good idea.)

Thanks

Hans
