Good evening all

I have download ddn 5.x and have installed the core store module.

The Core Store Module does an amazing number of things right, but it maybe lacking a little in design and style.   I could undertake the task of editing templates to imrpove the presentation.  But, I suspect that someone as already done this AND has done a better job of it than I am capable.  The question is who?  Who has modified the store templates, or developed store skins?  Who?  You the reader by chance?

Do you know who this who is? IF the who is you, then come forth and share your knowdledge.  If the who has sold out to a capitalist enterprise, are your the Who's partner willing to sell me the templates/skins?

Thanks

-Big D

If for an urgent website to put in prod I would stay with DNN 4.9.3 and download Store beta 2.1.12 on www.dnn.fr

http://www.dotnetnuke.fr/Ressources/ProjetStorebeta/T%C3%A9l%C3%A9chargementdownload/tabid/202/Default.aspx

The coming soon Store is a 2.1.14 which can be considered as a  2.2 RC. It's almost ready but Gilles needs testers for the Authorize.net provider, or someone would could give him a merchant acount on Authorize.net

It will contains a much larger stylesheet with a easy namespace that wil make it easy to design every part of the store. As for the templates, they are already pretty much configurable so nothing should change between 2.1.12 and 2.2

Thank you Benoit

Question please.  Is there an issue with using the beta with DNN 5.x?

Hi BigD,

The last beta 02.01.16 have no know issue, but mormaly you should not use it in production without intensive testing.

Gilles

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

I have tried modifying these templates and it isn't that easy. The style sheet s are also difficult to work with as everything imports into one style sheet making it impossible to use the Firefox css eidtor to fine tune the layout or to even see which part of which template is using which CSS.

I am going to work on these as they do indeed need a little styling.  Not to say they don't work well, they do and Gilles puts a lot of hard work into the store and it is much appreciated.

I do a lot of work on skins so I am going to attempt to create an additional set of templates for the store. As an ecommerce developer from way back, I can tell you that template/page layout has always been an issue in that area no matter what the application. They require so much coding and code guys are rarely layout designers. Maybe I can come up with something in the next several weeks.
