Hi all,

I have a new installation of the store running on Vista, being developed in VS 2008. When compiling the solution, everthing is compiled but the compiled dlls in the store bin folder are never copied to the website bin folder.

Therefore I end up debugging old code/have to physically move the dlls.

Has anyone else had this config/permissions issue and can point me in the right direction?

I have another DNN store instance running so I know there is nothing fundamentally wrong with my basic machine set up.

Regards,

Biggs

I'm using VS2008 on XP. When I opened the VS2005 solution file in vs2008, it upgraded the solution for me. When I right click the webcontrols project for instance, and select Build Events, I can see a series of Post-build event command lines such as:

copy $(ProjectDir)*.ascx $(SolutionDir)Store_02.00.00_Install

I'd be suprised if Vista is messing this up though. Did you definitely open the solution or are you using individual projects (since the build event seems to be using the SolutionDir as a variable)?

I do have other problems with this setup however so I wouldn't say it's perfect (I get a vs local webserver running for each and every project in the solution whenever I try to debug, but I'm using IIS as the server anyway so i have to tediously 'stop' each of those using their icons in the system try!)

good luck
