I see that this subject has been discussed but I have not been able to find a solution.

Background:
I'm running 04.09.00 with Store version 02.01.00. I have placed the store admin on a page only admins can see and the store catalog and store account on a page where the modules are only visible by authenticated users.

Problem:
Users are able to add items to their cart check out go to PayPal and pay but after paying and coming back to my site the get the following message and the order is not updated as paid.

Your order has been received and saved, but your PayPal payment could not be verified automatically. We will manually verify your PayPal payment and will then process your order.
You can view the status of your order at any time by accessing the "My Account" section of our site.

Please help, I have to get this working..

Thanks...

So the whole store is behind a login (you must be logged in to even view the catalog and/or cart)?

If this is the case, have you tested with the catalog and cart set for All Users?

Do you know if this is an issue in older versions of DNN or if this is specific to DNN 4.9.0?

Yes, you have to be logged in to view the catalog and cart. Is that wrong/not the correct way?

I have not tested with them set for all users.

I have not tried this with any other version so am not aware if it's a problem there.

Thanks...

The reason I ask about the permissions is the way that the Store knows an order is completed is that PayPal sends a callback link to the "PayPal Gateway Control" which is part of the module that loads in the page.  That page and its cart module(s) needs to be accessible to anonymous web requests in order to accept the incoming PP confirmation of completed sale (since PayPal is not going to log into your site to access the page). I think in a later build we may need to move the callback to and ASPX page so this is not an issue.

You can work around this by putting the catalog etc on a secured page and then loading the cart onto a page that is accessible by everyone (all users).  To prevent it from being easily assessed by anyone unselect the check mark "show in menu" in the page settings and then create a link to the cart and/or use the mini cart to access the cart page.  This will hide it from general viewing and still allow PayPal to access it for confirmation.
