I'm working with a mail order food company, and they only ship to the continental US, as they're shipping frozen food products packed with dry ice.  Is it possible (even if it means a code change) to remove the country choice or at least default it to the US?

I was going to ask a very similar question - I would like to be able to default to the UK but I would also like to be able to remove countries that we don't ship to.  I'm hoping it might just be a list somewhere that can be modified.

Cheers

K.

Okay - what I've found so far is as follows;

DNN has a default country list of about 238 countries.  This list is used for site registration and other things so if you make changes to it it will effect more than just the store module.

I can't find a way of getting it to default to a desired country although I understand this is possible but it might be a code thing.  For now I've created a new country called '-' so its effectively blank and sits at the top of the list.

To access the list you need to be logged into you host account - then select 'lists' from the Host menu.  At first I couldn't delete any countries but this became possible after I created a new country.

I hope this helps - if anyone knows how to set a different default country I would welcome the info!!

Cheers

K.

Okay - I've found a solution to the default country issue.

If you edit the country you want to appear at the top of the list and put a single 'space' infront of the name and save it it will punt it to the top of the list but not display the space.  This is based on someone else post relating to category order so thanks to them for the idea!!  :o)

Cheers

If you are able to compile Store module source, you can do following:

Open source file StoreAddress.ascx.cs from DotNetNuke.Store.Providers.Address.DefaultAddressProvider and locate the Page_load() function. After loadCountryList() call insert this line:

this.cboCountry.SelectedValue = "SK";

Value “SK” is valid for Slovakia – change this accordingly for your country.
