While working on the localization of DNNstore, I realize there is nothing about taxes (VAT) and shipping costs.

At least a minimum would be a VAT rate on a per/category basis, and the possibility to display prices as ex-VAT or taxes included. Even simpler, a money field 'tax' in the products table would permit to add the VAT manually on a per-article basis - not very straightforward, but simple.

Sooner or later, some powerfull mechanism for shipping costs will also be necessary (with regular expressions or something that would permit specific calculations). In most cases, this has been the main problem I had with stores.

Cheers, Benoit

Benoit,

Both these features are on the roadmap. Thanks for the input.

Further to the above, it would be good to have the shipping maintain a similar code structure/framework to that of the payment gateways, in that it is also "pluggable". This will allow for specific implementations to be added without modifications to the core. This would be handy in the case that shipping companies such as UPS, FEDEX or Australia Post are to be implemented.

I agree with Samant,

please note also that in my case (Netherlands) a different VAT percentage could apply than would apply to the products sold (19% for shipping, 6% for food products).

BR,

Martin
