Gilles!  I hope all is well with you and yours.  Thanks in advance for considering my question.

I have Show Category Products checked in the Catalog Settings of my Store Catalog.  It is configured to use the 02.01.00 release version of the CategoryContainer.htm template.  Thus, the token [PRODUCTS] lists all products in each category and all the products of every subcategory.

I have many products in several category/subcategory levels and the display of all the nested products from each recursive category level is very distracting.  Can this be disabled?  I would like to only show products defined at each respective category level.

In my humble estimation the recursion of product listings is not something people will want.  Perhaps it could be disabled by default and made an option in the Edit Category page of the Store Admin.  A checkbox for "Recursive Product Listings" for each category/subcategory would add a great deal of flexibility.

Best Regards.

I think I found resolution in a previous response here:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/114/threadid/197323/scope/posts/Default.aspx

I'm marking this thread resolved.  If you have any further information on the topic, great!

Have a great day.

Sorry I know this thread has been marked as resolved but I'd like to reopen it if I may.

From what I understand, at present is is impossible to have just the default category come up without any of its sub categories.

Ideally what I would like is to have say 'featured products' show when the store is first accessed but have the available categories available along the top, alternatively I'd like what others have asked for in that only the items in the current current category are shown and not anything from the sub categories.

I'll be very surprised if this cannot be done as it seems to me if you have a default category you are potentially in danger of showing every product in your store straight off which kinda negates the need for sub categories to some extent... :o)

Any clarification would be useful

Cheers

K.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, I was very busy this days. In a future version, I will add a setting for disable recurse! ;-)

Hi Keith,

The Featured products section is not recursed. The number of products to display is defined by the Rows and Columns settings. Concerning the Category products section, you'r right the sub categories are always displayed. In a future version, I will add a setting for disable the recurse.
