I've noticed some issues with the checkout section of the Store Account mod.  When you go to fill in your address information,  it asks you to fill in your region.  Now, being from the United States, this was a bit confusing to me as we define our regions by states.  So, I just skipped that one and continued until I got to "country."  I highlighted USA and THEN the region line gave me a dropdown for all the states.  So basically, if the customer doesn't know how "region" applies to his current whereabouts, he has to ignore that box, keep filling out stuff until he gets down to the "country" box, fill that out, then go back up several spaces to the region line and highlight the correct state/whatever.  So I just wanted to know if there was any way that I could re-order the way the checkout list reads and put "country" before "region."

Also, there is a typo in the module.  Next to the shipping options, separately is spelled "sepErately."  I dunno, maybe this isn't a big deal to a lot of people, but if I'm a customer who's getting ready to purchase something online by sharing sensitive information, it might make me feel a little uneasy to see a typo right before the "PURCHASE HERE!!" button.

I'm kind of a novice with this stuff, so if anybody could tell me how to change these things, that would be awesome.

Thank you,

Brad

Hi Brad,

Don't worry, everyone was a newbie!

I agee that the address behavior can be strange for US citizens. But you have to know that from the begining DNN was build with worldwide "in mind". Then many countries do not have a list of predefinied regions. Hopefully, you can adapt the store address control to your needs. Open the file StoreAddress.ascx inside the folder ...\DesktopModules\Store\Providers\AddressProviders\DefaultAddressProvider and reorder the html as you like.

Thanks for the typo error! Because DNN can be translated easily (an other great feature), you can correct/adapt any strings (when the module is well designed). Login to your web site with the host account, then go to Host > Languages and click on Language Editor at the bottom left. Now, in the left tree expand Local Resources > DesktopModules > Store > Providers > AddressProviders > DefaultAddressProvider > App_LocalResources and click on DefaultAddressCheckout.resx. In the right part, locate the ressource name: lblUseShippingAddress.Text (near to the end of the page), correct the value and Update!

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.
