Hi Tareq,

In which country are you? Some months ago, we had problems with PayPal in France. They had made modifications on servers. Could you ask the PayPal support, if they can trace what is received by the server? This will be usefull for understanding the problem.

Some users in France already use the Store module with PayPal without any problem. That should work in the same way for you.

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Thank you Gilles for all your help.

I am in United States. I am using the Paypal Module not the email.

In one post I saw that we will need add some more parameters if we are using the Paypal Payment System.

Do you have any idea what those parameters are?  I filled out everything that was on the settings for the Store module.

I contacted Paypal below is the their  response:

Research conducted using username pptest using p001 product code. I received the same page presented in your initial screenshot.  Looking at the logs for the backend of that account, I see no API calls hitting, or at least authenticating, on that account. Another thing I am noticing is that the button to send the transaction to PayPal is not a PayPal-hosted button.

PayPal requires that you use Express Checkout button images hosted on PayPal's secure servers, rather than hosting copies of these images on your own servers. Also, using the buttons on the PayPal servers eliminates the need for you to maintain them yourself. If the buttons are updated, the new buttons will appear automatically in your application. Using out-of-date PayPal buttons could reduce customer confidence in your PayPal deployment.

I am at the point if I cannot figure this I will proably not use this module. But if you can help me I will be grateful.

Thanks again,

Tareq

Hi

I am using paypal and while I am still in sanbox mode it seems to be working ok. I am using a Standard Merchant Account not the pro or the apis. The standard  allows you to accept both credit cards and paypal. I hope I will have the same success once I turn off the sandbox.

Gilles - once I return from paypal a summary of products appears on the order confirmation page. Does paypal return any information that could potentially be put on the page. Like - You order was successfully processed by paypal click here to view order details...carl

Hi Tareq,

The response from PayPal suggest you use Express Checkout. But the Store module use Website Payments Standard! There is 6 different payments mode in the US (Express Checkout, Website Payments Standard, Website Payments Pro, PayPal Mobile Checkout, PayFlow Link, PayFlow Pro), but only 2 in France and other countries (Express Checkout, Website Payments Standard), except in the UK where you can use Website Payments Pro.

The buttons are not hosted in your web site, they are called from PayPal (setting: PayPal Button URL inside Store Admin). In the Store Admin module, you must select PayPalProvider for the Gateway setting. Because you live in the US, the default PayPal provider settings can be used. You must have a Business PayPal Account and enter the email you use for create this account in the PayPal ID setting. That's all! For testing, check the Use PayPal Sandbox setting. While using sandbox, normaly you must be login to PayPal with you business account and use a false client account created at PayPal for simulate your client. Read chapter 8 and 9 of Website Payments Standard Integration Guide for details.
