Hi,

I made a portal with the name /shop.
It is www.watermansite.com/shop
Everything (except store see my t
read at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/114/threadid/179583/scope/posts/Default.aspx about users
kick out and showing pictures) works fine.
After examining the event vieuwer I discoverd the " general exception" message mentioned below.
The path and or file name are less than 260.
Somebody can advise me about this?

With regards, Ton Hermes

Hi Ton,

This is a common problem under ASP.NET (search this error on Google). Currently, the solution is to move your dnn floder near the root like C:\DNN. In a future version I will try to shorter files names, because the DNN file naming convention some files are very long:

  • DotNetNuke.Modules.Store.Providers.Address.DefaultAddressProvider.SqlDataProvider.dll
  • DotNetNuke.Modules.Store.Providers.Shipping.DefaultShippingProvider.SqlDataProvider.dll

Then, if you dnn folder is like C:\Inetpub\www\DotNetNuke\v470\yoursite\, the full path become:

C:\Inetpub\www\DotNetNuke\v470\yoursite\bin\DotNetNuke.Modules.Store.Providers.Shipping.DefaultShippingProvider.SqlDataProvider.dll

and for the corresponding ascx:

C:\Inetpub\www\DotNetNuke\v470\yoursite\DesktopModules\Store\Providers\ShippingProviders\DefaultShippingProvider\DefaultShippingCheckout.ascx

This is why in some cases this error occurs.

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi Gilles,

I will wait for the new version to solve this problem.
It is not possible to move my site.
Any idea when the next version will published ?
Thanks for (all) your answers and work on this.
I have a lot of fun with this store module.

With regards, Ton Hermes

Hi Ton,

This will not be corrected in the very next version (02.02.00), but in a future version because this require a lot of work nd tests. The next version is planned for the end of this month.
