Hi,

The country selected is not compared to the server but to the user ip address. I have just now create an account (ploum) on your web site and when I checkout the preselected country is France (my country). I can send you a screen shoot.

If you want than US was always selected, you can add the red part on the countrylistbox control inside StoreAddress.ascx. It can work because this is a common attribut of this control, not directly related to the Store module:

<wc:countrylistbox id="cboCountry" runat="server" Width="200px" CssClass="NormalTextBox" DataValueField="Value" DataTextField="Text" AutoPostBack="True" onselectedindexchanged="cboCountry_SelectedIndexChanged" LocalhostCountryCode="US"></wc:countrylistbox>

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Thanks for taking the time to try it.  Interesting to see it worked fine for you.  Hopefully that means its working fine for my customers, but I can't duplicate that success.

Here is a cut & paste of what I'm using:

<wc:countrylistbox id="cboCountry" runat="server" Width="200px" CssClass="NormalTextBox" DataValueField="Value" DataTextField="Text" AutoPostBack="True" onselectedindexchanged="cboCountry_SelectedIndexChanged" LocalhostCountryCode="US"></wc:countrylistbox>

Saved, tried it, still shows Afghanistan.  Tried IISReset, no change.  Cleared web browser cache, tried a friends computer that has never been to the site same result. Doesn't appear to be cache related.

How does the mapping from IP address to country work?  Perhaps its something odd with my ISP range?  How would IP 67.189.201.28 get mapped?

Hi,

I searched informations releated to the countrylistbox control on the dnn forums and found this one. It seems that it use the GeoIP.dat file (lite free version) from MaxMind. As you can see on their web site the free version is accurate on 98% only. Try to download the last version of GeoIP.dat lite and update your current file under ...\controls\CountryListBox\Data. The current dnn GeoIP file is about 635K and the last version available on MaxMind is 1035K, may be your ip range is in the new version!?

That was it.  Had to update the database. Working fine now.  Thanks for the suggestion.
