I also had this problem on a development system with only one portal (localhost) with my domain as an alias. As a workaround I set the HOST file on that machine to have 127.0.0.1 point to www.mydomain.com

This is definitely on the "To Be Fixed First" list.

Any news on a fix?

This is a big issue for me.  For some reason it works on my local development pc but not on the live site (wish it was the other way around).

Doesnt matter where i put them or what image i use (even the ones that come standard with DNN like the asp gif) it wont show on my live site.  The path seems correct.  I know the images are good as i am using the same ones from the development pc which display correctly.  Permissions look ok.  Just no display on the live site.

Anyone have any clues?  They dont show when im in admin mode either.

Thanks
Mark

Ok I fixed mine on the live server.

It is to do with the fact it appends the domain name to the beginning (http://www.mydomain.com).  I am not sure of a quick fix as you have to be able to cope with the fact it could be pointing anywhere including another portal on the local server.

I fixed mine with a long overdue internal dns pointing to the internal ip on the server.  But that may not be possible for other sites that are hosted with some providers.

We host our own so is simple.  We also host for others and are about to provide DNN hosting and will make sure we add the domains to the internal ip dns for our customers.

I have some other bugs which i will do in a seperate post :)

Love the modules... made my life so much easier already :)

Yes, the host url needs to point to your portal (Greg pointed this out in an earlier post, sorry you missed it), but we are changing it to use the method pointed out by Shawn.
