Hi sonasonia,

DNN Download is the right place! May be my explanations was not clear? Inside the file Store_01.00.01_Source.zip youn can find a file named DNN_Store.resources. Extract the file DNN_Store.resources from Store_01.00.01_Source.zip to your disk. Then rename it to DNN_Store.zip and open it, you will find the source files inside!

Hi Gilles,

Thankyou very much for your explanation and now I'm very clear.  I could find the source files now.  I'm puzzled why they have named that way rather than something like DNN_store_source.zip, because many of them like me will not be able to identify the resources as the zip file.  I had also seen a blog in the store module with the same question of source file been asked many times.  Anyway this is just my thought and can be ignored.

Once again, thankyou very much.  Without you I could have never got the Store source files.

SS

Hi sonasonia,

The naming convention ".resources" is common to all modules. May be you are confused because you start with DNN! ;-) When a module is well packaged and you need to work on sources, install the source version not the PA. Then DNN install automaticaly the sources on the right place.

Hi Gilles,

Thanks for explaining me on the .resources extension.  I'm very much new to the .NET and DNN.  Your response had helped me a lot.

I tried to install the Source version (Store_01.00.01_Source.zip) on my local machine DNN website, which I want to use as a development site but it fails with the following error.

ExceptionSystem.Exception: Dnn load failed, aborting at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnAdapter_V2.ReadDnn() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.Install()

As a workaround method, I installed the Install version and then replaced the entire Store folder under the Desktop modules with the unzipped .resources files from the Source version.  This workaround method could work but why the source installation from the DNN site failed?  Is there anything I missed out?  I hope there should be a straight forward method of installing the source files.

Thanks.

SS

Hi sonasonia,

I tested the installation of Store 1.0.1 Source and you are right, the module is NOT "well" prepared. The file 01.00.01.sqldataprovider is missing, this is why the installation fails. Your workaround is correct.
