Hi,
I understand that certain members are irritated after all the episodes by these last months. Concerning the version of the French Team, it is neither a problem of coordination, nor a will to reinvent the wheel! It is only the chance which with fact things.
I will try to explain. When Allan Thompson had given the code of its version to the community, I relayed this information on the French forum. After several exchanges with the French members, we decided that it would be wise to translate WWStore. At the beginning, it was just a question of providing a translated version and nothing more! For memory, WWStore is neither more nor less than Store 1.0.1 with several corrections and certain modifications, in particular on the calculation of the taxes.
But you know all the users. You tighten the hand to them and they eat you the arm! They started with comments such as: “It is cool, thank you! But, it would be possible to… ". Because I'm a nice guy, I have started to correct one bug, then an other, add a new function, and so on... Five months later, I had write five new versions, corrected many problems and added many new functions. I was not alone to achieve this task, even if I made most of work. Three other developers contributed on certain parts, as well as a Web-designer and many users to test the various versions. I made a point of thanking them here for their investment in this project.
During this time, Will came to take his functions of Team Leader. By experiment, I know as it is difficult to discover all the functions present in such a project. The Visual Studio solution consists of twenty projects and not less than fifty four controls! Believe me, it is necessary to invest much time before understanding how all this functions, and I do not even speak to add a line. This is why I do not find that the unpleasant comments are welcome. I recall that all those which contribute to an Open Source project make it gracefully without any remuneration in return, just to share with the community. This said, let us return on our subject. Will started to modify the original version, but he did not know that we had begun our version. We even did not know until where we were going to go! At the end of several months of work, we thought that it would be a shame to lose all this work at the time of the next version of Store. Benoit who is the official representative of the French community with taken contact with Will to propose to him to merge our projects. Given that Will is serious, it was necessary initially that it evaluates our project and our motivations. What took a few weeks, which is not finally so long.
Now, we are in almost ready to submit the new version to the Core Team. Please, I would like much that each one is calmed. You will judge soon if our combined efforts were worth time to wait so a long time. Will knows that it can count on our assistance. I would be present every day in this forum to answer as much as I could to your questions. Still very small little patience. I am sure that we will give again a new dash to this strategic project for the community.

Obviously, nerves are a bit frayed. The tone of the complaining email is not helpful. We need to work together to achieve meaningful results. If in fact the French team has accomplished updates to the project then perhaps we need a bit more coordination to avoid reinventing the wheel. If that code had been sent to Will, perhaps he could have spent time moving the project even further along. We need to step back a bit and assess how we can improve coordination and mutual support. We also owe Will our gratitude for stepping forward and getting involved in the project.

Jack
