I have been working a lot with the WWStore module lately, as well as having played with the Commerce Starter Kit (www.commercestarterkit.org) a bit, I have been hankerin to merge the best of the two projects: specifically, CSK uses it's spin-off ORM called SubSonic for all of it's data access which is light-years more sophisticated than the standard DNN Dal pattern. I realize this is a core module, and as such, will most likely be able to deviate from the 'standard' DNN Data access guidance, but hey, it's worth a shot. By the way, has anyone attempted to use SubSonic in other DNN Modules?

Separately, I would like to suggest breaking store media (product images/possibly electronic downloads) into a separate provider. In my own commercial store module, I incorporated a simple image gallery into the Product management/display page enabling multiple images be uploaded per item. I envision something like the Newegg product image viewer as very possible when this is broken out. I have encapsulated this media gallery functionality into it's own 'sub-module' for lack of a better description, and incorporated it into several other module customizations.
