I am pleased to announce that one of my DNN projects finally made it to a public release.

The dnnWerk RadEditor Provider is a simplified HTML Editor Provider for DNN 5 and the Telerik RadEditor. While providing a lot of flexibility it's loading very fast. A configuration module is included to allow host users to quickly setup the provider.

One of the goals for this provider was to make use of the many capabilities that come with the RadEditor. That's why we have implemented a content provider that handles the file selection dialogs and got rid of all the code that checks for file / folder permissions each time the editor loads. The provider gives you an easy UI where you can control toolbars and other configuration aspects. Based on the original provider that used to be shipped with the editor by Telerik we also implemented an easy way to have dedicated configuration sets per user role, portal and even portal tab.

Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Nice work, great contribution! Works great, the option to have css classes populated by skin is essential for us to clearly define and enforce formatting styles.

What would be terrific is being able to define new css classes from the editor / editing the editor.css file in the skin's folder from the editor. I might look into implementing this -- if I can just find the time to...

Question... Would it be possible to fix the localization fallback issue that is present in all RadEditor provider implementations? If you do not have resx files for your current language for the editor, labels in dialogs are empty. Could it be fixed at the provider level to fallback to english?

Thank you

Sounds great - thanks for sharing! I'll try it as soon as I have a 5.5+ upgrade!

Rodney: "The provider has been built against DNN 5.2.3, so all releases from there should be OK." (from the codeplex project description page)

Thank you for this. Off to try now.

On source forge you mention as what's next "Automatically open images in a Fancybox style popup".
Does this mean that we will be able to see more than a few images / file names at once.

I have kept with FCK for this reason as I had so many unhappy admins who could not understand a file requester that only shows a few files and make us click and click to do what in FCK would be quick (that is) find a file and use it.

IMO: The way the Telerik editor has been deployed with so many minor but basic user issues is much worse than when we moved to FCK.
