Hello all,

I just want to know are codesmith and VS project templates available from dnnjungle compatible with DNN 4.0.2. They were actually developed for DNN 3.0.

Thanks in Advance

CodeSmith will work on 4.0.2 for the most part ( I think) since this version is the same as 3.2.2. VS.NET templates will not work since they're specific for vs.net 2003, so you cannot install them on vs.net 2005

I have made a little modification to fit dnn4.x ,You can download from
ftp://dnn:dnn@www.cenya.com/ freely.

It's fully based on the original dnnjungle template(http://dnnjungle.vmasanas.net/Default.aspx?tabid=28).   I made some modification (generic support 、dataobjectmethod annotation、etc ).Notice that I made these modifications just to meet my needs. If  it doesn't suitable  for your, feel free to modify it.

Just great guys..

but  could anybody update the VB templates too? I'm not so familiar with the codesmith templates and I compare the C# versions and there are really some changes made. (But as more or less VB Only developer I could not understand all the changes

So I'm not shure which of theme are really needed.

I have a couple questions concerning the CodeSmith scripts used to create the business objects available on the dnnjungle site.  The storedprocedures.cst script generates the following strings {databaseOwner} and {objectQualifier} when run, unlike the the storedprocedures.cst in the DatabaseSchema directory.  Is there a reason for this?  The generated code cannot be run in QA without significant modification.

Another question has to do with how the DotNetNuke Module wizard created NameSpaces.  Specifically, using CodeSmith the controller class.cst includes Company.DNN.Modules.PA.Business and Company.DNN.Modules.PA.Data that I replace with my NameSpace.  However, there is not a Company.DNN.Modules.PA.Data in the wizard generated code. What do I do with this namespace and is it OK to be there?

I'm a beginner at this so pardon for not knowing/understanding the obvious. I'm using CodeSmith, DNN 4.0.2, and all the videos by Todd Davis of SeaburyDesign and I'm learning a great deal. I just believe the cst files need to be updated to correctly generate code for the latest version.

Thanks for any help provided.

Jon
