Hi fellow DotNetNukers

I am just a newbie at dnn but have some experience programming asp.net in c# and vb.net. my client requires a particular look for their site and i need to learn how to program skins. where do i start? can you give me any links on the subject.

Hi Chris and thanks for dropping into the forums - You can find the skinning documents which will give you a good start. I've converted them to CHM format on my site and have several sample skins to download for free to get an idea, but to be honest, if you were to open the _default/skins/dnn-blue/ skins in there - you'll find a zipped example of the skin set, and, the files in html, ascx mode as well as the xml files.

I've also got a 20 minute free tutorial/overview on skinning that gives you an indication on what's involved in skinning.

I know that Lee from http://www.dnncreative.com also has some skinning information you can pay a subscription to learn from. I don't have all my information online to that extent, but work more in the lines of providing free skins and information around it.

That should get you started.
