Hi,

As like most I have had problems with spam etc.

I have managed to remove all the users etc and stop the spam but is there a script to delete all the notifications?

I have over 15564 to remove from one for example I have quiet a few to sort out

if someone has already asked this then I am sorry but the search was just hanging for me

Simon, can you more specific as to what you mean by 'notifications'?

Bruce,
I have the same problem as Simon... My SuperUser Account has 519 notifications of SPAM logins. I have used the 'delete all 'Unathorised Users' from the portal using that facility in Admin>>User Accounts.
I then deleted all these users with the excellent script from Sebastian Leupold (ref: https://dnnscript.codeplex.com/releas...) as the 'Remove all deleted Users' in the Admin>>User Accounts produced an error. (probably related to the large number of accounts to be deleted as I later deleted another 5 and that worked).

That left me with the Notifications. The DNN framework allows me to delete one at a time (Probably taking me about 4 days :) ) , but a script or a method to tag all notifications, then delete - would be useful.

regards,
Duncan.

... I've just resolved the Notifications issue.
Simply delete all entries in the 'CoreMessaging_Messages' table with entries of types 7 and 16. ... It can take quite a while :)

regards,
Duncan.

You need to be careful with trying to delete a large number of users because it will generally fail. You also need to be careful with deleting the users only from the database as this leaves behind the user folders.

I have a blog post here about removing users : http://www.dnnsoftware.com/community-...

Deleting the notifications as you have done is fine, and probably the best way to do it.
