The way our current Intranet is set up is a website that the employee logs into and they can then access other Intranet applications such as benefits application, a Managers tool kit, a product catalog, etc.  These applications are using a home made security systems based on roles that the employee has.

Now that we are moving our Intranet to DotNetNuke, these other intranet applications cannot survive alone without the Intranet front end.  We would either have to update each application to use its own login functionality so they can be a standalone application...

Or is it possible to move these applications under the DotNetNuke directory by creating a new folder called "intranetapps" under the Intranet portal directory (in order to keep them in one location) and then utlize DotNetNuke security roles within the applications.  Of course we would have to update the applications to reference the security roles but 1. Is this possible?  2. Is there any documentation on how to use the security roles in our own applications?

Any help or recommendations on how to do this is appreciated!

Thanks,

Tanya
