Hi,

I have an installation of DNN 6.1 that I had added a few HTML modules in the footer area of the skin. I placed and edited these modules on the site home page. I then set the modules to appear on all pages. Later I decided to delete two of them. I was sure to delete them from the home page (the originals). But, unlike previous versions of DNN, the module(s) continued to show up on the other pages of the site. So I went through and deleted them one at a time from each page.

Today I noticed that the modules were still showing up on the admin pages, so I looked at the module "added to pages" settings and saw where there are about 20 more pages (all admin / host pages) that all the modules are showing up on.

Is there some sort of new method for deleting a module that has been "added to all pages" that DNN 6.1 is using that previous version didn't? Because this could be a huge pain to deal with...

BTW - I have completely emptied the recycle bin.

Thanks for any insight offered.

Jim

Okay. After a little more work I determined that you now have to first uncheck the "add to all pages" within the module settings and click "update" before deleting it -- then delete it from the recycle bin. I was able to wade through the other pages and finally get rid of the extra incidences of the module(s) in question...

Jim, I've had to go through this process too. If this happens again, rather than having to go through each page to find "stray" modules, the easiest thing to do is check "add to all pages" and update again. Then, uncheck "add to all pages" and update. Once you've done this, you should only have the single instance of the module and be able to delete it easily.
