Hi
This facebook login configuratio is quite inadequately explained.
In the APP ID text box, enter the information provided to you by Facebook.
In the APP Secret text box, enter the secret code provided to you by Facebook

Where are these APP textboxes?
All I have is: Authentication Type, the 3 control source boxes and the enabled checkbox.

I had mine configured before reading instructions but checked instructions... they're correct.
Are you having trouble finding the APPID on Facebook or DNN?

On DNN, goto Admin, Extensions, Authentication, click the edit beside facebook... if the APPID etc aren't there, perhaps you have a faulty install? Are you on DNN 6.2?

note this FB login is mostly useful for new sites. if you have a few hundred or thousand existing users ... they'll all end up with 2 or more profiles per users. Up to 5 if you install all providers.

Hi John.
I was in Host Extensions Authentications. (Not Admin)
It has the same little green icon as the Admin Extensions but it is different.
When you think about it, the login needs to be configured site-by-site. So the Admin has to do it.
I've got it working now.
It works well, even on my Windows phone.

Now I'll have to research and R&D setting up Twitter/ LinkedIn etc because I can't find how to get the app account set up in these.

Yes, I noticed there was no way to link to existing users. The thing is, once you use it for one Login Provider, it sticks with that. I had to clear my browser cookies/cache to log in as host again.
I use IE for testing as a user and Firefox for Admin. The popup windows are a nightmare gor admin in IE because they render under the other modules.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers

I'm still on DNN 6.1.5 for production sites and use the FB provider from InteractiveWebs.com (free if you only use authentication). It let's you match FB to existing users. It shows standard + FB login everytime.

I use IE mostly as FF is so sloooow ... but have FF and chrome. In IE popups don't render under modules for me. Perhaps it's your skin? But you have to test in all 3 for users.

Probably wait for 6.2.1 or 6.2.2 bug fixes before moving production sites. Hopefully DNN will fix the FB provider by then to match to existing accounts. Even dotnetnuke doesn't use FB provider!
