Hi,

  I am buidling a new DNN site and would like to know if there is a way like the modules to restrict portals to available skins?  Our coporate only wants a standardize design appplied across the organization.

Yes you can setup dnn so that only the skin that you upload as host will be available to you portals.

I'm sorry for being a noob but how would I set that up?  I have gone through every settings possible that I can see but nothing is working.  One more thing, is there a way to prevent portal admins from uploading their own skin.

portal admins cannot upload skins as they contain active content (e.g. ascx files that can execute code). You can decide where skins are available by logging in as host and uploading them to the relevant location e.g. host->extensions installs them to the \default folder making them available to all portals, whereas admin->extensions installs them to that particular folder (the upload functionality is only available to hosts)
