DNN 5.6.3 install, thought to be VERY stable.  4 portals, same skin; skin makes no difference (tried that...).  On only ONE portal, if I log in as HOST, Host functions at the bottoms of host screens are just missing; for example Portal Export, New Portal and all the items on that line are just gone...

If I go to Module Definitions, all the host controls/items on the bottom are gone.  Same for Extensions...  Change portals, still logged in as host, they are back...

I went to the database and can find no difference in the Portals tables between 2 or 3 working portals and the one that doesn't work except the portal number (2).

Not debilitating by any means, but how can I trust what is going on??.    Cleared cache [I thought...].   I'm at a loss...

Unbelievable...  Just fixed it while checking everything before 'send'...   Edit was off; stuck in view mode...  Where does that get stored???  Holy crap what a waste of a Friday night...

Now that I figured it out I found Chris Hammond's post...

glad you found out the issue. Based on purely anecdotal evidence (similar questions to this recently) Im speculating that the dropdown is easier to change (or easy to miss the change) that the old radiobuttons. I'll create an enhancement request to add something to make it more obvious e.g. a message injected into the module menus to let uses know what mode theyre in.
