We are runing IIS 7.5 on Windows Web Server 2008 R2 with DNN 05.05.01

I've installed DNN in a virtual folder under the Default Web Site.  When we access the site internally we can access it via servername/dnnname.  We are now trying to access it via the web using a website address www.companynamednnname.com but all we get is the IISStart page that is part of the Default Website and not anything in the virtual folder for the DNN install.  I've added the www.companynamednnname.com to the portal alias but that doesn't help (which I didn't think it would since it seems to be an IIS thing).  What sort of redirection thing am I missing when I'm setting this up for outside access?

Thanks in advance.

did you make sure you configured your local name server routing www.companynamednnname.com to your web server machine and assigned this host header to your DNN installation (you need to install DNN in the root of this web site folder to omit dnnname folder from the URL).
