in this case, you need to remove virtual directory, remove default content of wwwroot and move DNN files into it.

when i remove the virtual directory the DNN site is not loading (error message : virtual directory is not properly set).

and one more thing the DNN folder is in wwwroot folder only and there are no default content in my wwwroot folder.

Correct me if i am wrong. Else can you give away the steps (be more specific). i am new to .NET technology.

Thanks, Narendran.S

  • remove virtual directory
  • copy all content to wwwroot (1 level up)
  • remove empty dotnetnuke subdirectory
  • make sure, IIS web site is properly configured (default.aspx as default document, ASP.Net 2.0, etc.

I did the following

1. removed virtual directory

2. copied files under c:/inetput/wwwroot/DNN to c:/inetput/wwwroot/dnn files and removed the DNN folder

3. in the IIS, right clicked 'default Web Site' and seleced properties. pointed the home directory to c:/inetput/wwwroot and the necessary properties.

After doing all this my site is not loading, it is showing the following error

Server Application Unavailable

Can correct me. Thanks in advance. Narendran.S
