Hi,

I've been trying whole week to Increase the Core Search Index Characters. It seems that the setting in the seach module is not helping much as it still allow about 255 charactes or so.

Can anyone point me where to change it, even if it requires to change the store procedure or code...

Thank you

Thanks,
George

you need to alter indexer settings in Host :: Search Settings, and clear the existing search index tables.

I've change the setting in both Host and Search Module, it is not increasing at all.  I mean, it has a limit. Even I set it as 1000, it still index about 25 words.

Update: To be precise, I want to increase the number of words of indexed "Search Description"

Thanks,
George

search description size is in most cases limited by the modules during indexing, I am not sure atm, whether the search table has a limit as well, AFAIK, this will require code changes in core and modules.

I've done some researches on the module and core...seems it is limited by the core. The file should be DotNetNuke.Search.Index.dll. I downloaded the source and not sure where to change it...
