Hello,

At the studio I work at, we are having someone bombard our sites with sql queries.  At least that is what my boss says.  Anyway, he wants to know if there is a way to disable the ability for anyone (including host accounts) to create sql queries on a DNN installation?

Anything in the web.config file that could do this?

Thanks.

no, there is no option to prevent the host executing SQL statements - you can remove the SQL module but he might be able to readd it or a different one.

Do you know what the scripts are doing or know which module might be used to send these queries? Bombaring SQL Server with queries could be from an automated tool. Can't think of how one would create them manually.

You can use Sql Profiler to run a trace on the database.  This will tell you what queries are being executed and some other information.  If you have an extremely active server, this can produce a large amount of information quickly but it is the only way to tell what queries are being executed on the server.  You can google how and there are plenty of help articles out there.

You are right, it wasn't done manually.  My boss said it was doing something like 10 per second so it has to be a script/tool of some kind.
