Hi,

I used the "export" function and it created a template file in the "portal/0" (depending on what I chose, either in the root or the templates subfolder). So far, so good.

Then I went to a different page and tried to "Import" the template. The import dialogue allows me to choose the root or template folder - but no matter which I pick and where I exported to - that Import screen never lists the previously saved templates - even though I can clearly see the page template files on disk!?

Best Regards,

Andy

this is a known issue and will (hopefully) be solved in next version.

Thank you, Sebastian for taking the time to reply. Not what I was hoping to hear.

PS: I'm getting increasingly concerned that I'm encountering various issues across the sytem. I thought that by installing a release 9 of a version 4 of a product, at least the basic "page" functions should be working by now -- we're not talking about some totally unique circumstances effecting some hidden away subfunction somewhere deep in the system...

I'm committing some (for me) serious resources into a project that I was going to base on DNN. Getting a little worried whether I'm making a smart choice.

Apparently there is no QA in place - which means any future version could break key functions elsewhere in the system that would cost me dearly - and there obviously is no "hotfix" system in place that quickly restores functionality that was accidentally lost whith a new release. I'd be happy to pay for premium support - but that won't get me solutions - just the vague outlook that my site might possible work again in a few months? Very troublesome outlook, indeed.

Andy,

there most of the existing issues have been fixed in DNN 5.0 (and a few new ones introduced, as I got to know today), but of course, there is no software without any issues, though nearly all developers try to minimize those in their software.

The DotNetNuke developers work hard to avoid any breaking changes for modules and other extensions (as long as using the API), if there are issues, they will be fixed in next version - for security and maintanance reasons, new versions are preferred to releasing hot fixes. DotNetNuke Corp. lately announced DotNetNuke pro for Q1/2009, which will include service, more details to follow.
