Hi,

I'm quite new to DNN and don't understand the Subscibers role. Does the admin have to manually add users to this role?

Basically what I want is to have a newsletter subscription page where a user enters his email and clicks the submit button and his email is stored somewhere or automatically to the subscribers role. Ummmm does a user have to be a registered user for him to be added to the Subscribers role? Sorry probably that might be a silly question and frankly I have just recently started using DNN and haven't explored all the features yet.

Please advise if this is possible with DNN where a even a guest user can subscribe to a newsletter.

Thanks and looking forward to some positive feedback.

Subscribers role provided is for registered users only, they may enter their user account (by clicking their name) and enter "services" section, where they may subscribe or unsubscribe to public roles like Newsletter. Admins can address this role when sending out mailings from Admin :: Newsletter module.

Hi,

Thanks for clarifying that. So basically only registered users can subscribe to a Newsletter.

I'm failing to understand the usage of the RSVP link. Can you please give me an example of where it could be used. I understand the RSVP code is for specific users whom you would like to subscribe but what is the RSVP link?

Thanks.

there are 3rd party modules avaílable for newsletter registration of non-registered users.

RSVP is used to grant access to private roles by entering the code, i.e. if you have a special offer for a limited group of people, send them a mail with the code, asking them to register and entering the code in the services section of their account to get the benefits.
