Hi guys,

I'm just getting started with DotNetNuke portal as a test. I have v 4.9 installed and I created a default looking portal OK. My problem is that I have changed something in the configuration and now when I click on Login. It just reloads the Home page.

I changed two things that could be the cause: I set Registrations to None, becasue this is supposed to be closed site. Secondly, I set the Default pages to Home.

Is there somewhere I can edit this information back to the original state? Since I can't login at all, it will presumably have to be a direct config file edit somewhere.

Thanks for any help you can give.

it looks like you changed the settings for the login page in site settings. If you have access to the database you can edit the portal record in table portals and delete entry in field loginTab (i.e. replace current value by Null)

Thanks for the quick response Sebastian. I managed to get round the problem in the end using John Mitchell's excellent Opensesame.aspx alternate login page, detailed here: http://bit.ly/DNNLoginFAIL

I found it after some googling, which I should really have tried before bothering you guys. Thanks again for the assist.
