I am very new to DotNetNuke and ASP, so bear with me.

I'm trying to create a skin for my company, but when I preview it, I'm getting:

Error:The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>)

I noticed that when the file was being parsed, it was showing:

Substituting:

With:
images/Login.gif" class="style1">

The error itself, and several other posts that I've found online point to the <% but how do I fix it? There are no <% symbols in my html... I have taken out the runat=server. I can't get the thing to work.

I had something similar the other day and changing it to use the <%# instead of <%= didn't do anything for me either (but it wasn't on a skin, it was on a module).  My control was housed within either a Repeater or GridView (can't remember right now) so I ended up just populating the value through the OnRow (or OnItem) DataBound event.

Do you have those anywhere in your ASCX at all (that is, if you are creating the skin using the ASCX method and not the HTML method)?  The HTML (if you created the skin that way) uses tokens with [SOMETOKEN] and are parsed into <% in some cases.  Would be interesting to see if that were causing the error and, if so, what sort of properties you have on the skin to cause it.

My fault... I had a typo in one of the tables. I put RightPame, instead of RightPane. I guess the error needs to have a little work done...
