Hello all, I'm having trouble installing a second instance of DNN 4.03.  This is the error log it is giving me:

00:00:14.359 - Executing Additional Scripts:
00:00:14.359 -   Creating Portal: My Website
00:00:17.125 -   Error: INSERT statement conflicted with COLUMN FOREIGN KEY constraint 'FK_BobsBicycle_TabPermission_BobsBicycle_Permission'. The conflict occurred in database '21bottles', table 'BobsBicycle_Permission', column 'PermissionID'. The statement has been terminated.
00:00:17.125 -   Portal failed to install:

I have successfully installed one instance with the objectqualifier of "redcross_" in the 21bottles database, however when I go to create another instance of BobsBicycle it is throwing this error.  Any help is appreciated!

That sounds odd, because as the install error states, the constraint is actually using the qualifier. I would manually go thru the DB and ensure that all tables, stored procedures, and contraints have been removed and then try to reinstall. Or, use a different qualifier. It sounds like there might have been a partial install before this one.

One other question: Have you accomplished an install in a standalone DB without a problem? Just checking.

I installed one instance in this SQL 2000 database with no problem at all.  I used "redcross_" as the qualifier and everything worked just peachy.  It is when I try to do a second install on the same database with a different qualifier that is bombing this.  I've deleted, installed, redeleted, installed, redeleted all with different qualifiers and have had no luck whatsoever.  The only tables that existed on that database before the first install were my own and not related to DNN.  I'm a web developer that writes my own stuff, but my boss wanted me to teach everyone DNN and to give it a shot.  So far I'm not impressed at all because of it's little support and flaky install.

You're probably not getting all the support you want because this isn't a typical usage. I don't know of anyone who's attempted this before. I was under the assumption it was possible, so there may be something that broke it in one of the past few releases. I'm just not sure. As for the install, I haven't had a problem with it at all. As long as you accomplish the steps correctly, you should be able to install everything without a problem.

Most people run multiple portals on one DNN install and don't setup multiple installs in one database. Have you checked the issue tracker to see if there have been any comments on this? All I can really suggest would be to try to step thru the install to find out what's not working. If I had to guess, I'd say it might have something to do with the aspnet_* tables in the database, but that's just a guess.
