I was having buckets of problems with DNN on Windows 2003 after I moved it from the dev computer (Vista).

I thought the problem was my skin, so I posted over there first, and the advice was to reinstall dnn.  I've done that 4 times this morning, and I've just finished doing a completely clean install (no moving of my files, no installing any additional modules).

Immediately after the install completes (everything seems cool up until this point) and it goes back to the main default page, IE throws this error:

Line: 33
Char: 4
Error: Automation server can't create object
Code: 0
URL: http://xxxxxxxxx.com/Home/tabid/37/Default.aspx

This ONLY appears on IE7 - no error is displayed in Firefox with Firebug or in Chrome, but of course, everyone still uses IE, so it absolutely must work in IE.  When I log in as host or admin the "Settings" arrows and "Icons" for all modules are not present.  There are also no menu items present in the menu.

If I try to install my skin, which utilizes the [NAV] token instead of SolPart, I start getting javascript errors in all browsers... but first things first... can anyone help me get a completely clean install working on my Win2k3 server, please?

(Oh, I went out and bought the "DotNetNuke Websites" book and followed the instructions there... that's how I installed stuff.)

Thanks very very much.........................................

is there anything specific th your IIS server? Do you use server side compression or a proxy server in between?
