I just copied my DNN site from one server to another, and everything seemed to work fine, until I tried to hit the site without the "www" in the url. If I hit the site with the "www", everthing is fine. Without it, I get the following error:

Error   Failed to update database "C:\INETPUB\WWWROOT\KILHOFFER\APP_DATA\DATABASE.MDF" because the database is read-only.

Any ideas? Why would the url affect the database? Thanks in advance for your advice!

OK, this turned out to be a permissions issue. Got it taken care of. Now, does anyone know how I can move my existing DNN site database from the standard mdf in the App_Data directory to a new database on a sql server instance? Thanks in advance for your input!

Could you tell me the changes you made?  I have the same problem.
