I need a portal that is designed for 2 languages (English\Kurdish). Aside from developing the language pack, are there any modules for changing or selecting a language preference.

please have a look through this forum, there are third-party solutions and modules listed from Apollo Software (www.apollo-software.nl), Locopon (dnn.tiendaboliviana.com) and Germansr (www.pureportals.com/gr).

Cheers from Germany,

I use Locopon and Apollos products combined and it works! But my problem is that I need to change the shown language name from Norsk Bokmål to Greenlandic which is not a part of the ASP.NET language set. To do this I have to make changes to these two products AND the core... And when there's a new version of either - we start again on looking through code, changing, compiling and testing. A waste of time!

Locopon and Apollo are the most widely used or most widely mentioned solutions... They should be put on a plane to meet with the core-team and help them develop a solution we can use...

Hehe, thx for the cudos . Could you elaborate on the changes you make to mine and Locopons modules, and to the core, to make Greenlandic work? Maybe if the changes are good, i can at least implement them in my modules, in anticipation of changes to the core ....

cheers,

Erik

This is great, but it only changes the language of the static content. What about the dynamic content, that is stored in the DB. Are there any language script that add the functionality on DB side? (This script would be add an extra field for all text field, plus it would modify the SPOC's). Also would need module modification that would contain input fields for both language...
