We recently encountered an issue in DNN Search in 5.x; search was enabled in our site, and for an unknown reason began causing a huge number of  lock escalations during processing in SQL Server.

Search had been functioning on this site without problem for years. The site itself does not have a great deal of content. Has anyone seen this behavior before?

We are also having the issue with DNN 5.0.0 search. It stopped working I think since last couple of weeks. I just started looking into it, tried different options as suggested in different forums but nothing seems to be helpful.

did you check the size of the Database? Especially if it has been running for years, chances are that your database grew too large, depending on server settings or maybe even physical storage
