Is there a way to prevent the DNN from loading jquery at all? I want to load my own files from the skins.

Thanks.

Yehuda,

in Host Settings :: Advanced Settings :: jQuery Settings, you can check "Use hosted jQuery version" and provide the Url of your jQuery files.

Best wishes
Michael

Thanks Michael. What I need is to stop dnn from loading jquery at all. I am familiar with these settings, but it has only 2 states, hosted or dnn installed (as I understand it). I do not see any option to stop it from loading jQuery all togather.

Yehuda

Hi Yehuda,

I'm not sure that is advisable as I think you might lose some site functionality. One way you could do this is by unchecking "Use Hosted jQuery Version?", so that DNN is set to use the installed version and then modify the jquery.js and jquery.min.js by stripping the scripts out and leaving the files blank. Deleting the files would throw a missing resource error but if you just strip out the js and leave the files no jQuery would load. I have not tested this and as I already said would not advise it. Please copy and save your files in a safe place before attempting so that you can recover if needed. You will find the files under "Resources/Shared/scripts/jquery".

Good luck!

Rich

Thanks for the pointers Rich.
Just to make clear, I do not want to disable jQuery. What I want is to have the option to load it from my files and not rely on DNN installed files or Hosted service.
For example, if I want to have a different version of jQuery on certain page, you can't do it now.
That said, you understand that deleting the installed files content will probably not achieve my requirement since they will conflict with the versions I'll upload from skin.
