Hi DNN folks.

I am getting this message after enrolling for an event with a fee: “You are enrolled for this event, but not yet approved! “  I am using PayPal as my payment processor.  When I click the purchase link, takes me to the Paypal page and the transaction appears to be completed.  The Paypay activity log shows a completed transaction. We are in the process of converting from version 4.9.4 but I’ve also gotten this error in our test environment which is version 5.6.4.  I am getting the receipt email from PayPal.  The calendar event  shows the enrollment but it shows the enrollment as not approved. We are one of a number of portals on a DNN instance. When I look in the event log, it appears that I am getting the error below.

Thank you so much for your help.

David Weaver

Hi David,

I'm not sure what version of the Events module you are using, but I think it must be quite old if you are running it on DNN 4.x install. Can you try running a new download from http://dnnevents.codeplex.com on your 5.x install (it needs a minimum of 5.5.0) to see if that fixes the problem.

Cheers
Roger

Hi Roger.
As always, thank for the fats reply. It really does help in problem resolution when you supply such speedy, accurate response.

I can't find the event version number for the 4.9.4 live instance. However, the event version on our test instance is 5.2.2 which is using a dnn instance version of 5.6.4. At one time, this actually worked properly in the 4.9.4 version.

So you think that converting the 5.5.0 event version will correct this issue?

Thanks again.

Roger,
Sorry about the spelling errors. I should never type without using Word.

In our dev region we are at DNN version 5.6.4 and event version 5.2.2. However, when I look at the “Extensions” even though it does display the event version number 5.2.2 it shows a “yes” in the “Critical Updates Available” column.

Thanks.

Hi David,

Don't know why it would be saying there is a critical update against Events 5.2.2, since that is the latest formal release. I know you would get that warning against DNN 5.6.4 because I'm pretty sure that isn't the latest.

I think I have spotted a bug in the code, but this should only be triggered if there is an error somewhere in the PayPal notification (IPN). So I'll do some testing tomorrow (it is late in the UK now, and I've been out all day). I'll have to check it against the PayPal Sandbox, which always takes me a while to get going right. Should be able to figure it out. Result will be you will have to upgrade to a new 5.2.3 beta, but that is all bug fixes so should be no problem.

Cheers
Roger
