Background-
I now officially hate GoDaddy.com.  I was told that they offered DNN pre-installed.  (But you can't access any DNN files or DB tables.)  And then I was told that I can just install DNN manually.  (I've been trying to install 4.0.2 and it won't run.  Just won't.  (I'd been with Brinkster for a few years previous, so I'm not a complete noob at this.)

Question-
Is there any way that I can have the Store module point at a different DB than the DNN install?  I have a separate SQL Server DB that I can use.  However,i t looks like the module uses whatever DNN is using. (no separate .config)

If anyone has any good ideas let me know.  (other than drop GoDaddy, I'm considering it)

We are using 4.0.3.

Answer) No.

You can have different DotNetNuke installations share a database using the objectQualifier, but you cannot have a module use a different database than DotNetNuke (unless you develop the module yourself). Personally, it is much more convenient to have all the related DNN tables in one database.

As far as GoDaddy, you might find this helpful...
